How to get to Sorrento From Naples Airport

BY COMPLIMENTARY SHUTTLE BUS (Complimentary service will be provided by the local organizers)
A complimentary bus shuttle service will be provided at fixed times from/to Naples Airport-Congress Venue (a schedule will be posted on this site).

BY PRIVATE TRANSFER
Sirene Eventi can provide participants with a private car (max 3 people) or a van (max 8 people) with a driver from Naples Capodichino Airport to your Hotel in Sorrento. You can check rate and book this service at the third step of Registration & Accommodation procedure.

BY PUBLIC BUS
In front of the Naples Capodichino Airport, upon exit from the Arrival area, you can find a bus stop for the “Curreri” Bus Line which runs from the Naples Airport to Sorrento Piazza Lauro. The trip to Sorrento lasts about 75 minutes. The tickets (cost about 7 euro) can be purchased on board by asking the driver. Please find below the time table:

In front of the Naples Capodichino Airport, upon exit from the Arrival area, you can also find a bus stop for the “Alibus” Bus Line (cost 3 Euro, from the driver) that leaves every 30 mins. from the airport to Naples Piazza Garibaldi where you can catch a train for Sorrento (Circumvesuviana Line) that takes about 1 hour to arrive (cost about 5 euro), and also to the touristic seaport of Beverello where you can take the hydrofoil by sea. From Rome to Sorrento there is a direct bus “Marozzi Line” , (cost 16 euro) from the train station “Tiburtina” to Sorrento Piazzo Lauro once or twice a day at 7:00 am (weekdays) and 15:00 (only Sat. and Sun.), and return trip from Sorrento-Rome, that takes about 4 hours.


How to get to Sorrento by car

At the Naples Capodichino Airport, it is possible to rent-a-car from most major companies (http://www.gesac.it/en/index_servizi.html)

From Northern Italy. Drive in direction south on the “Autostrade A1” following indications for “Roma-Napoli”. Once arriving at Naples, follow indications to “Autostrade A3” for “Napoli-Salerno”, and the “Penisola Sorrentina” / Sorrento. Exit the highway at “Castellammare di Stabia” (right after the Exit for Pompei) and follow indications for Sorrento.

From Southern Italy coming from Bari. Drive in the direction north on the “Autostrade A16” following indications for “Bari-Napoli”. Once arriving at Naples, follow indications to “Autostrade A3” for “Napoli-Salerno”, and the “Penisola Sorrentina” / Sorrento. Exit the highway at “Castellammare di Stabia” (right after the Exit for Pompei) and follow indications for Sorrento.

From Southern Italy coming from Reggio Calabria. Drive in the direction north on the “Autostrade A3” following indications for “Salerno-Napoli”. Exit the highway at “Castellammare di Stabia” (right after the Exit for Pompei est - Scafati) and follow indications for “Penisola Sorrentina” or Sorrento.

NOTE: all “autostrade” in Italy are toll highways that normally require a payment of a fee for passage when you exit.

From all directions, once arriving at the Exit for “Castellammare di Stabia”, follow indications for “Penisola Sorrentina” or Sorrento. Go to the left on the mini round-about, following the blue signs for Sorrento. After 2 km continue up the overpass, keeping to the left (on SS 145). Pass through 3 tunnels which lead you onto the coastal road to Sorrento along the Gulf of Naples. Continue on the coastal road (Corso Italia) through the towns of Meta, Piano di Sorrento and Sant'Agnello, then into Sorrento (under the bridge with SORRENTO written on it), continue for about 500 meters to the first major intersection, where you must turn left, then immediately turn right onto Via degli Aranci, proceed for 600 meters until you see a sign indicating the Hilton Sorrento Palace, where you will need to turn to the left, onto Via S. Antonio.
Distance from Naples airport is approx. 50 km. Driving time from the airport is 75 minutes

How to get to Sorrento by train

Reach the Naples main train station (Napoli Stazione Centrale) from the airport or other locations (i.e. Rome or Milancatch the Circumvesuviana train (local line) to Sorrento. Departure area is 2 levels below the same Stazione Centrale.

How to get to Sorrento by sea

At the touristic Port (molo Beverello) it is possibile to take the hydrofoil for Sorrento (about: Euro 9). It takes about 30 min.

From Naples to Sorrento: 9.00 - 11.00 - 13.05 - 15.00 - 17.15 - 18.35 - 19.30*

Useful info

- Once in Sorrento, tickets for the local Buses and Circumvesuviana train can be purchased at the train station, newspaper stands (“Edicola”) or tobacco/cigarette shops (“Tabaccheria” or “Tabaccaio”).
- International telephone cards are available at the“Edicola” and the “Tabaccheria” or “Tabaccaio”?
- Monetary exchange service is provided by the hotel and most banks (normally open from 8:30 to 13:30)
- July in Sorrento is the summer high season. Shops open around 9.30 am and close around 10.00 pm. Some shops are have non-stop opening hours, but many are closed between 12.00 am and 4.00 pm. In general, the shops in the historical Sorrento center or in other tourist zones have continuous opening hours. Post Office is open from Monday to Friday from 8.00 to 18.30, and on Saturdays from 8.00 to 12.30. Banks and exchange offices are usually open from Monday to Friday. Check what is the time in Italy (Rome)
- Note that taking the taxi from Naples to Sorrento is very expensive (they can ask 80-100 euro, upon arrival). In case, agree on the price before.
- Most people, especially in bars and restaurants, speak good English. In Italy as in many other European countries Euro is the official currency.
- Generally, the climate in Sorrento in the summer months (July and August) is sunny, hot (temperatures between 28°to 35°C, day and night), and humid (RH 80%).
Appropriate accessories to bring include – a hat, bathing suit, sunglasses, protective sun lotion and mosquito repellent. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended for the social/cultural excursions
